Collaboration in music has always meant
trusting people with too much.

You share a full Google Drive folder because there's no other way. You send login credentials because the tool doesn't have guest access. You email a Dropbox link and lose track of who has it. Three months later, someone downloads the wrong version and you have no idea.

The music industry runs on relationships — with producers, engineers, co-writers, and labels. But the tools haven't caught up. Collaboration still means exposure: to your whole catalog, your financials, your other projects.

melabel Collabs gives every contributor exactly the access they need — and nothing more. Role-based, scoped to the release, revocable at any time. And every contributor becomes a credit record, stored automatically.

Features

Invite Flow
Email invite. In-app notification. Both.
Invite collaborators by email. If they're already a melabel member, they get an in-app notification and can approve or decline. If they're not, an invite email is sent and a shell profile is created in your workspace automatically.

Scoped Access
They see one release. Not your whole catalog.
Grant access per release, per project, or per file folder. A producer on one EP can't see another release, your financials, or anything else in your workspace. Scope is explicit and visible to both sides.

Member & Shell Profiles
Works whether they're on melabel or not.
Existing melabel members get a request sent to their team for approval — visible on both sides. New collaborators get a shell profile created automatically, storing their credit and role without requiring them to sign up first.

Shell → Full Team
A credit record today, a full team tomorrow.
Shell collaborators can be converted into a full melabel team when the relationship grows. One action turns a credit-only profile into a complete workspace — keeping the history, the credits, and the connection intact.

Invite States
Know exactly who's in and who hasn't responded.
Pending and accepted states are visible on both sides of the invitation. You can see who's waiting, resend invites, and your collaborators see incoming requests with full context on what they're being asked to access.

Access Control
Remove access instantly. Credit record stays.
Revoke a collaborator's access at any time with one action — their credentials stop working immediately. The credit record for their contribution is preserved in your workspace. You own the history; they lose the access.

Release Credits
Every collaborator becomes a credit record.
When you add a collaborator with a role, that contribution is stored as a credit on the release. Producer, lyricist, composer, engineer — it feeds into release metadata automatically at distribution time. No separate credits step.
Connected to

Collabs isn't
a separate tool.

Every collaborator connects to the rest of your workspace — access, credits, and contributions are all tied to the releases and projects they belong to.

Collaborators see only the specific files and folders they're scoped to — stems, artwork, or masters — without accessing anything else in your library.
Collaborators are attached to the release project they're working on — they can see tasks and milestones scoped to that project only, not your other active releases.
Credit roles added through Collabs feed directly into release metadata at distribution time — no separate credits step, no re-entering contributor names.
Ask Tansen to invite a collaborator, check who has pending invites, or list every contributor across your catalog — it knows your full collaboration history.
