Amplification Rate
Amplification Rate measures how often your audience spreads a post, usually shares divided by reach (or by followers), showing how much of your content travels beyond you.
Amplification Rate is a ratio that shows how often people who see your content choose to spread it. The most common formula divides shares by reach, although some tools divide by follower count instead. Where Engagement Rate captures every kind of interaction, Amplification Rate isolates the one that pushes your music to new ears.
It is useful because virality is otherwise hard to pin down. A post with high amplification is being passed along faster than your follower base alone would explain, which usually means it is reaching new listeners through other people's networks. Comparing amplification across your own posts shows which formats, hooks and moments your fans are proud to share. Comparing against other artists is less reliable, since audiences and platforms differ.
For example, two teaser clips for the same single might both reach 20,000 people. One gets 60 shares (0.3% amplification) and the other gets 600 (3%). The second clip is the one to boost, repost and build the release campaign around, because fans are already doing the promotion for you.
melabel calculates Amplification Rate in Social Analytics from each post's shares and reach, so you can rank content by how far it travels and connect those spikes to movement in your streams.
